BABALU TAPAS
& TACOS® NAMES MINELLY A. AMADOR DIAZ GENERAL
MANAGER
OF ATLANTA
RESTAURANT
ATLANTA (April. 30, 2018) – It’s a long way from San Juan, Puerto Rico,
to Atlanta, but Minelly A. Amador Diaz is glad she made the move to become
general manager of Babalu Tapas & Tacos® at 33 Peachtree Place in Midtown.
She now oversees all aspects of the popular Spanish-meets-Southern-style tapas restaurant’s operations and daily activities, from new hires and staff training to managing food procurement and ensuring diner satisfaction. Amador Diaz is also the first female General Manager to join the Eat Here Brands’ team.
“I have a very simple goal,” Amador Diaz says. “Our guests should know Babalu as the perfect place to unwind. I want them to leave happy and raving about both the food and service.”
She believes her dual passion for multitasking and guest interaction serve her well. “I’m eager to inspire more people to try our tapas because I truly believe that sharing is caring.”
Prior to moving to Atlanta, the seasoned industry veteran gained more than 15 years of experience managing restaurants such as Old Harbor Brewery, East Asian Bistro and Applebee’s in her native Puerto Rico. Babalu Chief Operating Officer Abe Ruiz is excited to have her on the team. “Minelly is incredibly adept at managing a restaurant, and she is also very personable and knows the details of fine dining service,” Ruiz says. “We know our guests will be well cared for, which is critical for us.”
A native of San Juan, Amador Diaz received her business degree from University College of San Juan. She’s become an active member of HYPE (a division of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce). While she misses long walks on the beach, she finds great pleasure wandering the streets of Atlanta, exploring everything from the restaurants to neighborhood parks.
