KEVIN GILLESPIE HOSTS TERMINUS CITY BACKYARD BARBECUE AT COMMUNION ON FOURTH OF JULY
Ultimate Bash in Revival’s Backyard to Feature Barbecue, Beer, Games and More;
Proceeds Benefit Emory Healthcare Veterans Program

ATLANTA (June 16, 2016) - There’s no better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than with a giant backyard blowout, and that’s exactly what Atlanta chef, restaurateur, speaker and cookbook author Kevin Gillespie has cooked up for Terminus City’s Fourth of July BBQ. This festive, all-ages event takes place at Communion, the beer garden-inspired backyard behind Revival, Gillespie’s family-style restaurant in Decatur. There will be barbecue, beer, family-friendly entertainment and games (darts, cornhole, horseshoes) to round out this one-of-a-kind celebration on Monday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All food, drinks and games are available for purchase via tokens -- $5 each -- with prices ranging from 1 to 4 tokens (tax and gratuity included).

Gillespie's Terminus City is serving up a chopped whole hog barbecue sandwich plate available for purchase for 4 tokens with tax and gratuity included (items are individually priced at 1 token each if purchased separately). Plate special includes:
·         Chopped whole hog barbecue sandwich
·         Brunswick stew
·         Potato salad
·         Coleslaw
·         Fried pie

There also will be drinks available along with cold beer to wash down the BBQ goodness. Families can mingle at communal picnic tables and on the front and side porches of Revival (the restaurant itself will be closed).

All proceeds from the day benefit Emory Healthcare Veterans Program, which helps post-9/11 veterans heal the invisible wounds of war and ease their reintegration into everyday life. Donations will also be collected via donation jars.

“We want this to be the ultimate Fourth of July backyard barbecue,” says Gillespie. “We’ve been doing this every July 4th since 2005 so it’s a tradition for us. We always support a local charity and this year it’s the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program. This event embodies what the holiday is all about—celebrating country, freedom and family. And it just doesn’t feel right to do that without doing something to help the brave men and women who’ve given so much on our behalf.”

Revival and Communion are located at 129 Church Street in Decatur. For more information, call 470-225-6770 or visit revivaldecatur.com.
