THE SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN KICKS OFF WEEKLY
“MONDAY NIGHT BOURBON CLUB” ON OCT. 5
Sophisticated Take on Sports Viewing in Buckhead Features Top-Shelf Whiskeys
with Specialty Cocktails and Upscale Bites

ATLANTA (October 2015) – Bellying up to the corner tavern for greasy wings and domestic beer is no longer your only option for catching “Monday Night Football” at the bar. The Southern Gentleman, the Buckhead gastropub known for its simple yet sophisticated take on regional cuisine, is kicking off Monday Night Bourbon Club, a weekly event showcasing top-shelf brands, specialty cocktails and a tasty, chef-driven spin on sports bar and tailgating fare.

Every Monday night from 8 p.m. to close, the bar will highlight a different bourbon, rye or scotch whiskey and offer a featured cocktail made with that spirit for $10-$12, as well as flights and tastings starting at around $12-$15 and up.

“We’re also inviting representatives from these brands to come and speak to our guests and offer tastes of their product lines,” says co-owner Chris Hadermann. “We want this to be a fun, educational and interactive experience.”

The schedule for October is as follows:
  • Oct. 5: George Dickel
  • Oct. 12: Yellow Rose and Troy and Sons (Pacific Highway)
  • Oct. 19: Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey
  • Oct. 26: Four Roses Bourbon

In addition, executive chef Matthew Ridgway will offer a small bar menu showcasing a refined take on sports bar and tailgating fare, with selections including:
  • Deviled eggs with okra chutney ($5)
  • Southern Cracker Jack popcorn ($6)
  • Meat pies ($8)
  • Cheddar herb biscuit ($7)
  • Confit pork belly with sherry vinegar sauce , fried rosemary and Kentucky bourbon barrel soy ($10)
  • Georgia peanut butter wings with ginger halo and scallion ($10)

Best of all, guests can enjoy these cocktails and bites while taking in the big game on giant 60” screens on either side of the restaurant’s roomy bar. “Our goal is to provide a welcoming alternative for discerning men and women who want to be able to see and hear the game, have a high-quality cocktail and enjoy some creative, modern Southern cuisine," says Ridgway.

The Southern Gentleman is located at 3035 Peachtree Road NE in the Buckhead Atlanta development. Valet parking is available. For more information, call 404-939-9845 or visit thesoutherngentlemanatl.com.
