ATLANTA’S TOP CHEFS COLLABORATE FOR
ALL-STAR CHARITABLE DINNER
HONORING THE MEMORY OF EMILY CAMERON AT UMI
$10,000 Scholarship to Be Awarded at May 1 Event Benefitting The Giving Kitchen
HONORING THE MEMORY OF EMILY CAMERON AT UMI
$10,000 Scholarship to Be Awarded at May 1 Event Benefitting The Giving Kitchen
WHAT: The second annual Atlanta chefs’
charity event will be hosted at Umi by an
all-star lineup including Fuyuhiko and Lisa Ito, Gerry Klaskala, Joey Ward, Asha
Gomez, Bruce Logue, Todd Ginsberg, Billy Allin, Todd Mussman, Landon Thompson,
Adam Evans, Phillipe Haddad, Matt Weinstein and Christopher Maher.
Last year’s successful release party for the book "Atlanta Chef’s Table: Extraordinary Recipes
from the Big Peach" sold
out in under an hour and raised over $15,000 for The
Giving Kitchen. Now author
Kate Parham Kordsmeier and photographer Heidi Geldhauser have joined forces
again to host this event to honor the late photographer Emily Cameron.
This
year’s event will be an unforgettable evening of top chefs, many recently recognized by The New York
Times, working
together to prepare a multi-course dinner with wine pairings. Best of all,
guests can enjoy a front-row view from communal tables overlooking the sushi
bar, watching their favorite chefs team up for what promises to be one of the
most outstanding meals of the year.
The evening will also include a $10,000 art
scholarship awarded to a service industry worker pursuing a career in the arts,
given in honor of Cameron. Artists interested in applying for the scholarship
can find more information here. All additional proceeds from the event
will benefit The Giving Kitchen, which provides crisis grants to members of
Atlanta’s restaurant community facing unanticipated hardship.
