Restaurateur Raised More Than $190,000 in Fight Against Blood Cancers
Hadermann raised $191,595 during the organization’s Man & Woman of the Year competition, with every dollar raised counted as one vote. Hadermann competed for the award in honor of his grandfather, who lost his life to leukemia, as well as local blood cancer survivors Emory and Norah, LLS’s Boy & Girl of the Year.
“This award is for everyone with Southern Proper Hospitality and Tin Lizzy’s who helped make this happen, as well as friends and family, and of course the guests of our restaurants who also assisted in this extensive fundraising effort. More importantly, it is for all who are fighting the fight against these terrible diseases,” says Hadermann. “I am honored to be able to contribute to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s life-changing work to increase survival rates for these blood cancers. The Southern Proper and Tin Lizzy’s teams look forward to hosting more events and promotions for this important cause.”
As part of Hadermann’s fundraising efforts, all of Southern Proper Hospitality’s as well as all 12 Tin Lizzy’s Cantina locations participated in a special cocktail promotion, with $1 from every drink sold going directly to the LLS. Tito’s Handmade Vodka matched every dollar donated from this effort as well.
Other efforts included a private wine dinner hosted by executive chef Matthew Ridgeway, a Great Gatsby-themed five-course dinner and party at The Blind Pig, a bountiful garden dinner hosted by Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails, a golf tournament at the Polo Golf & Country Club sponsored by both restaurant groups along with food supply company Performance Food Group (PFG), and a “Sip & Savor” fundraiser hosted by Hadermann at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. Hadermann also raised funds via his Facebook page, his personal MWOY page and by reaching out to generous friends and family.
Hadermann will now be entered into a competition for LLS’ Man of the Year, with a national winner announced in July.
